The private swimming pool is under the management of local charity, Friends of Hay Swimming Pool. Whilst the charity’s main purpose is to keep the pool available for the provision of school and private swimming lessons, we are happy to allow private hire sessions where possible, all we ask is that you respect the building and follow our terms of booking.
With lovely warm water at 31 degrees, it’s great for babies, children & adults. Our pool has two family size changing rooms, pool side showers, toilet facilities and it can be all yours when you private hire it for your friends and family. The pool is 15m x 9 m. We have a ladder for entry which takes you in to a comfortable depth of 0.9m (no level change to pool depth)
Book Hay-on-Wye Pool for a private swim for your family and friends. You will have the whole pool, changing rooms, showers and bathroom facilities all to yourself.
1hr 10min slots available - All babies/toddlers/children, spectators & swimmers count as a person joining to use the building and facilities, so please ensure you select the correct number of people when booking online. The 70-minute session includes all change time before and after swim.
Our max bather load for private hire is 15 swimmers. For bookings over this number please email hayswimmingpool@gmail.com.
The lead hirer must take responsibility of all those attending. There is no lifeguard on duty at the pool.
Pool hire for 15 bathers is £25 per 1hr 10 minute session.
Cancellations must be made before 24 hours of booked session to receive a refund. Session cancelled after this time will not be refunded.
Private hire online booking opens on the 1st of every month, for 4 - 6 weeks in advance.

IF NO SESSIONS ARE SHOWING AS AVAILABLE AFTER A BOOKING DATE, IT MEANS ALL SESSIONS HAVE SOLD OUT. ANY CANCELLATIONS WILL BE PUT BACK ON THE WEBSITE TO BE REBOOKED.
The pool is located next door to Hay-on-Wye Primary School, in the main car park just off Oxford Road, Hay-on-Wye, HR3 5BT.
